I shouldn't let this bother me but I can't help it. ABBA, those syrupy, overproduced Swedes, were voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Stevie Ray Vaughan was overlooked again.
There is no explanation for such an injustice (laughable and horrific at the same time) so I won't even go into it. I would only sputter and curse and call in an air strike on the RRHoF, which is nothing but a glorified souvenir stand anyway.
Instead, here's a video to compare SRV and ABBA.

NICE!!! Crazy stuff, how could they do that!
Ugh. I hope they all choke on their teeth whitener.
As Charlie Brown once famously said, "I can't believe it, I just can't believe it."
Now imagine being married to an Abba fan.
CCM -- oh, my. there must be support groups for that.
First off thank you very much for this post. I'm with you I can't see getting uptight about this thing. If you look at it for a moment you can't help but wonder "who in the hell is doing the voting here?" it sure wasn't you or me. Maybe it's time someone did speak up. We are the ones listening to the music. If the votes are suppose to be reflecting our taste in music WE are being misrepresented.
I wasn't going to, but I got to. I have a theory. I can see the music business working like the pharmaceutical companies(business).they find something or someone that stimulates the senses and they advertise, promote it, exploit it . It becomes that "cash cow".,Drug companies had valium. Music companies Spice Girls, Britney Spears. Don't get me wrong the valium has some redeeming qualities as do the spice girls and Britney. BUT they aren't cure alls.
The drug companies are good at reading people. When one wonder drug starts to lose popularity they create a new one. Need I say more. Music companies do it the same thing. They create a new fad.Look at this Montana person and the Jonas brothers. I'm not saying there isn't talent there. They aren't super stars with all the talent. There are hundreds if not thousands of individuals sitting at home jamin or in a garage some where that are equally if not mre talented.Yet they remain unknown???? WHAT'S WITH THAT????
I am confused. If anyone has the answer lay it on me. And I am sorry for coming on your blog and getting on my soap box .. Sometime you got to say what up? Nikgeebervi
This won't be considered a cool thing to say, but I'd rather listen to Abba than SRV any day. I've tried listening to SRV and I just can't get into him. I just don't get it, sorry, it just seems an almighty chore to listen to.
ABBA is a pop group they did not play ROCK songs...why are they awarded to R&RHOF ??? But at least more people all over the world know who they are and also they can sing along all ABBA songs ..campare to SRV fan base and how many people can sing SRV song !!.....
Whaaaaaaattttt???!!! I don't Abba. In fact, I kind of appreciate their theatrical type of music, but I don't consider that rock and roll or anywhere near that.
